Seven Revenue Streams Every Agency Should Have
Most agencies don't scale and get shitty exit multiples and terrible terms (earn outs, etc.) because their only revenue stream is their main service
Here are seven revenue streams every agency should have:
1. Digital products
These are a great way to monetize people who cannot afford your main offer.
They are also one of the most effective types of ad funnels to run.
A rule of thumb is you can upsell about 2% of people who buy your digital product into your main service over time.
2. Affiliate
If you stuff your lead magnets and email flows with relevant affiliate links, you can build up a lot of recurring commission revenue over time.
This is especially true when you get into ad traffic and are getting thousands of new subscribers per month.
3. Referral fees
If they can't afford you, you should refer to cheaper agencies and collect a fee.
If they are too big for you, you should refer them to bigger agencies and collect a fee.
If they need other services you don't provide, you should refer them and collect a fee.
4. Courses
Repurpose your internal employee training and sell it as a course for those who can't afford you and/or want to learn to do it themselves.
5. Programs
A program can take many shapes, but one of the best ones for agencies is to charge people a monthly rate to ask any questions they want.
This is great for all levels of the market, including bigger companies who won't hire you because they have internal teams.
6. One-time intro offers
Having an intro offer will get you more calls (less perceived risk), help you close more calls (less actual risk) and it is easy enough to upsell them to the main recurring service if you actually deliver results.
7. Main recurring services
No explanation needed. This is what everyone has already.
